Working Together for a Healthier Guam: DPHSS Joins Lions Club International for 2026 Health Fair
Hagåtña, Guam – The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), is pleased to announce its participation in the Lions Clubs International District 204 Annual Health Fair. This community event is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Micronesia Mall in Dededo from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Health Fair aims to provide essential health services and promote healthy lifestyles within the community. DPHSS will offer a variety of specialized resources and programs, which include but are not limited to:
- Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program: Staff will provide educational materials focused on diabetes and tobacco prevention, risk reduction strategies, and information regarding the Guam Tobacco Free Guam Quitline.
- Guam Comprehensive Cancer Control Program: Attendees can access educational resources on cancer risk reduction and learn about available community resources.
- Guam Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program: This program will offer information and educational materials, as well as on-site eligibility assessments and enrollment for qualified individuals.
- Guam Hypertension Prevention and Control Project: Representatives will provide information and educational materials on managing high blood pressure, with opportunities for project enrollment.
- Maternal and Child Program and Clinic Services: Information and guidance for families.
- Preventative Dental Health: Educational materials on oral hygiene.
- Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program: Details on available support services for new parents.
- Senior Citizen Services: Information on the DPHSS Division of Senior Citizens (DSC) services to include Information and Awareness on Title III Home and Community-Based Aging Services including Supportive Services, Nutrition and Family Caregiver, Medicare Assistance and Protection and Advocacy on Bureau of Adult Protective Services for elderly 60 years and older and family caregivers.
“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Lions International District 204 to provide free access to these vital health and well-being services,” said DPHSS Director Theresa C. Arriola. “Together, we can provide much-needed support to improve the health of our community members”.
This event is designed to help residents maintain a healthy lifestyle through general health awareness and direct access to screenings. All members of the public are encouraged to attend this free event.
